“Working with Natalie helped me understand new ways to put care at the centre of creative work. This is not just theoretical for Natalie: it is a practice that extends to all areas of the work, from emails to meetings and scheduling, periods of rest, moments for focus, effort, reflection, growth and enjoyment. Her creative practice is about holding space for people to explore and develop, to connect with, and contribute to, the world around them.
Through working with Natalie to deliver Pier Peers, a six-month artist development programme for artists in the East of England, I experienced what it’s like when an organisation embodies and extends the ethics of its leader. I felt supported, encouraged, and heard. Most of all I felt there was time for me to develop new ideas and practices and to offer them in a meaningful way in a specific place and context.”
